Shiitake & Cabbage Soup

While talking to my bestie today I fell into one of my usual slumps. Slumps are only curable by cooking, so I headded into my fridge.

It all started with some napa cabbage. I don't know why I bought it because really, it's one of those things that torture you. It sits and hangs out in the cripser drawer and you wonder "what on earth am I going to make with you?"

This camera phone thing is way easier than me having to upload pics from my actual camera. Don't judge me... I know it sounds incredibly lazy.

So getting back to the previous topic, the drive from Virginia to New York was supposed to take like 7 hours. Given a few bathroom breaks and whatnot maybe like 10 hours. However, the whole ordeal took more like 12 hours because of the horrible blown tire on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Hm so it's been a while

I'm trying out some desktop blogging software, see if this makes it any easier for me to update. Anyways it occurred to me the other day that I really do take pictures all day almost every day... except I just send them to my net-bff or my brother... so maybe I should just blog them for entertainment right? I'm always bitching about how I don't take enough pictures anyways... anyways stay tuned!

In the meantime, I'll leave you with these pics. We went to NY this weekend... I really enjoy going back to visit but I really wish this was under better circumstances. It seems I only get to go there these days when bad things happen, sad times.

Yup I'm still here. This is Friday night dinner. Is it lame i'm eating it front of my computer waiting for Miss Kim so we can watch Glee? You know, for me at least, dinner is often a stressful affair. Not the cooking part, I like that. The deciding that to eat part. That part is a pain. I know the other thing you're thinking: what the hell is with Sin and the damned peas? I'm actually a little shocked how much people hate them. I love them.

So, I have a secret. I love fried rice. I could live off of fried rice if you let me. Interestingly all of my Chinese friends have their own versions of fried rice. Generally, the technique stays the same, but everyone has their own personal tastes.

So, it's like this. I HATE OFFICE. Now I know I have other opions like... Open Office or iWork, but I'm too concerned about formatting inconsistancies to take a chance on it with school. I am now on my 3rd attempt at a clean install and it STILL won't fully cooperate. I swear it's just my crappy luck. Bah, humbug.

Man I've been so bad about this blog since my husband came home. In either case, I actually did end up finishing the damask painting. I figured I'd throw some pics up for you guys to see.
